Jillian has been moving in new and exciting ways.
Jesse commented today that the way she is moving looks so "Jillian." Her everyday gestures as well as how she dances all combined into one.
I experienced for the first time today (although some people experienced this yesterday) Jillian opening her right eye. She locks her focus on you if you are in front of her. My reaction was sort of like, "Hey! Jillian, it's Erika. I love you!" It is so breathtaking. It is so beautiful to see her blink.
Last night those who were in her room all night said that she was REALLY moving her body all around. Grabbing onto sides of the bed and pulling herself in various directions sometimes looking like she wanted to sit up. Also they said that she was running her hand through her hair and also feeling her face. At one point she actually opened her own eyelid with her own hand! Donna Faye asked her to do it again (amazed), and she did!
Sometimes she furrows her brow.
Some people have suggested that we play lots of music for her.
Does anybody have any comfortable, over-sized headphones we could borrow? At the moment, we play music from iPhones, computers, iPods with those little hard white headphones.
As you can tell, everyone has their own reading on what Jillian "means" by the way she is responding/communicating. I like hearing everyone's interpretations.
Ingrid has a theory. Most people come out of comas mind first, then body. She thinks that Jillian is waking up with her body first and her mind will follow. Pretty cool, huh?
